Heather Portaro, NP-C

Mrs. Heather Portaro joined Blue Ridge Ear, Nose and Throat (Blue Ridge ENT) in July 2024 as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Since graduating with her Family Nurse Practitioner degree in 2018, Heather has focused on achieving excellence in compassionate care for all ages including newborns and older adults. She has even provided international medical care and led her first medical mission to Ahuas, Honduras in 2020 where she had the privilege of seeing 300+ patients in a village. In their clinic she used her background in the operating room to first assist in general surgery at the Clinica Morava medical clinic.

Heather grew up in Blowing Rock, North Carolina, and has always loved living in the Appalachian Mountains. Heather now resides in her hometown of Blowing Rock, North Carolina, with her husband and two children. In her free time, she enjoys coaching and playing volleyball, hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, skiing, camping and traveling out west with her family.
