One of the five symptoms of hearing loss is avoiding social gatherings. This leads to a disconnect with people. Hearing loss is the third most reported physical condition, following arthritis and heart disease. It can strike people of all ages, with 48 million Americans reporting some degree of hearing loss.
Do you have a friend or family member who is included in this report? Blue Ridge Ear, Nose, and Throat and Blue Ridge Hearing Center would like to celebrate Christmas in July through an essay contest that seeks individuals in Watauga, Ashe and Avery counties who would most benefit from a free pair of hearing aids and follow-up services.
We Want to Hear Your Story
To enter the contest, participants must submit an essay of 500 words or less that states who they would like to nominate for consideration, in addition to how that person would benefit from the hearing aids and follow-up services from the doctors and providers at Blue Ridge ENT & Blue Ridge Hearing Center. Community members are encouraged to nominate their friends and family members. Staff of Blue Ridge ENT and Blue Ridge Hearing Center will vote on the top three essays based on criteria of financial need, degree of hearing impairment and quality of the essay. Entries must be submitted no later than Friday, July 1, 2022.
